Convert fonts to outlines. Check colour mode, page dimensions and bleed.
Prepare the file. Preserve the quality.
On-screen design and print production need different preparation. Check file format, colour, dimensions and margins before sending artwork to production.
Formats accepted by ORK
Final artwork must meet the requirements below. If corrections are needed, the production schedule may change.
CorelDRAW · CDR
Version 14 or earlier. Vector objects and outlined fonts; no raster objects. Prepare effects and gradients for correct output.
TIFF · TIF
CMYK, at least 300 ppi at final size. Merge all layers.
Photoshop · PSD
CMYK with flattened layers. No transparent layers. Check final dimensions and resolution.
2 mm outside the trim. 4 mm inside.
Add bleed outside every edge of the finished product. Keep text and important elements at least 6 mm from the outer file edge — equivalent to 4 mm inside the trim line.
- 2 mm · bleed
- 4 mm · inside the trim
- 6 mm · from the file edge
Example: a 90 × 50 mm business card
File including bleed: 94 × 54 mm. Safe area: 82 × 42 mm. This is a calculation example; your order determines the finished size.
Technical preparation
CMYK
Prepare artwork in CMYK. Screens and printed materials may reproduce colours differently.
300 ppi
Raster images: at least 300 ppi at final size. Increasing the ppi value alone does not restore missing image detail.
Outlined text
Convert fonts to outlines in vector artwork to preserve their appearance.
Scale 1:1
Supply artwork at actual product size, including bleed.
Total ink coverage ≤ 320%
The sum of C + M + Y + K must not exceed 320% for artwork supplied under these requirements.
Black colour
Plain black: C0 M0 Y0 K100. Rich black: C60 M40 Y40 K100.
